Why Tryangulate?

"Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident."

– A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

The mission of Tryangulate is to support every teacher in developing to their maximum potential.

We believe the best way to achieve this is by using an evidence based, skills focused approach 1 . This allows both the specific strengths, and areas with development potential to be identified on a Teacher by Teacher basis. The most effective development path can be tailored for each teacher, as well as for the school as a whole.

We do this in one of two ways: either we carry out a benchmarking exercise at your school, feed our findings back to you, and support you in forming your development strategy, or we license our system to you, so you can carry out the same robust exercises we do as often as you like using an internet connected tablet or laptop.

This page talks you through our process, and if you would like to discuss further with a member of our team then please don’t hesitate to get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of the page.

How Does it Work?

The 10 Core Skills of Teaching

The Tryangulate process involves answering a series of questions, each of which is tied back to one of our 10 Core Skills of Teaching.

By using this method to identifiy teachers' strengths and areas with development potential, good practice can be shared effectively, and additional training allocated as needed.

Integrating this process as a key part of teachers' on-going professional development either provides the confidence that the designated course is being effective, or highlights as early as possible where a course correction may be necessary.

Live System

We license the use of our Tryangulate system for those interested in adopting it as part of their on-going development strategy. All you need is a web-connected tablet or laptop.

1.

Create a new Tryangulate Activity.

2.

Use your expertise to answer a range of guided questions.

3.

Get a breakdown of performance covering the 10 Core Skills of Teaching.

4.

Provide instant feedback to the teacher.

Whilst using Tryangulate to benchmark is great to summarise the current situation, the real power comes from its continued use.

Short-Term

Carry-out the cycle of Activites, Feedback and Setting / Reviewing Objectives for your Teachers.

Medium-Term

Create School / Department Overview Reports to provide a snapshot of the current position.

Long-Term / Strategic

Analyse your Tryangulate data to facilitate taking evidenced based decisions.

Guidance and Notes for Every Question

Every question comes with its own Tryangulate guidance to help with consistency.

Make any relevant notes as you go. These are collated on the summary screen, and can be added to your reports along with the guidance if you choose.

Tailor Questions to Suit Your Setting

A complete set of standard questions is available by default for each Tryangulate activity. However no one knows your context like you do, and you can add, edit and remove questions and guidance as appropriate to your setting.

Objectives

Set and Track Objectives from within Tryangulate - keeping all the information you need in once place. Teacher's Objectives Tables can also be documented by adding them to Activity Reports.

Rapid Setup

Once registered, the only thing needed to get Tryangulate ready for use is to create your list of Teachers. That's it!

What's more, if you already have the information in a spreadsheet for example, you can make this even quicker by using our import function to set these up in one go!

Calendar

Use Tryangulate's in-built calendar to see what was done when, and schedule future activities.

Tailored for Age

Tryangulate includes 5 Frameworks covering all learner age ranges.

EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework covers young children up to the age of 5 years old. This is intended for children up to and including Reception.

KS1 & KS2

The Key Stage 1 / 2 Framework covers pupils between 6 and 11 years old, and is intended to cover the principle Primary School Years 1 to 6.

KS3 & KS4

The Key Stage 3 / 4 Framework covers students between 11 and 16 years old, and is intended to cover Secondary School Years 7 to 11.

KS5

The Key Stage 5 Framework covers students between 16 and 18 years old, and is intended to cover Secondary School Years 12 and 13, i.e. Sixth Form or College.

HIGHER

The Higher Framework covers students above 18 years old in Higher Education settings, such as Universities, and Higher Education colleges.

Live Demo

The Live Demo area will give you the opportunity to trial the system in a live environment. You will have access to a Primary School, a Secondary School, and a University.

You will be able to undertake Tryangulation activities, generate reports, and analyse the available demo data.

The number of questions will be significantly restricted (around 25% will be available), and you will not have the ability to carry out any administration functions, but otherwise the system will behave as normal. No activities you create will be stored on the server, so once your browser is refreshed these will no longer be available.
